MADE TO ORDER!

So, you want to live in the desert!  It’s nothing but sand out there.  And it’s hot all the time, there’s very little water and almost nothing to eat!  You are going to need help if you plan to survive in this harsh climate.  You see an ad.  It says, ‘made to order, whatever you need designed specifically to fulfill your particular set of requirements.’  There is a list that includes a C-A-M-E-L meaning ‘handsome’???  It reads:

Camel.  Guaranteed reliable; called ‘the ship of the desert’, has been used to transport people and goods across the desert for the last 3-6000 years.  Lives for 50 years. Very strong; can carry up to 900 pounds for 25 miles a day.  Will provide wool, milk, (meat when necessary), DRY dung you can burn immediately (it’s dry because a camel wastes no water in these dry old deserts.                                                                                                                                                Adapted perfectly to the desert climate; its bushy eyebrows set on a protruding ridge of bone, its three sets of eyelids, two ordinary and one thin one that acts like an automobile windshield wiper moving side to side keeping the blowing sand out of its eyes.  It has lots of hair in its nose to keep the sand out of its nose or if all else fails, it can close its nostrils.  Bet you can’t.

It has thick rubbery lips that feel no pain allowing it to eat prickly plants other animals cannot.  It has wide feet that make it possible to walk in soft sand.  It has thick hair in the winter and thin in the summer to help it survive the extreme temperatures.  It stores up to 80 pounds of fat in its hump and can drink 40 gallons of water in 10 minutes which it stores in its red blood cells.  Surprise!  Not in its hump or humps as it were.  As a result, it can go without food or water for 5 days in extreme heat or several months in cooler temperatures.

“Perfect”, you say.  “I’ll take it.”

What a perfect example of God meeting the needs of people in the natural, physical world, a metaphor of what He wants to do for you!

Do you know that He placed a ‘made to order’ ad for a ‘helper’ in the scriptures?  ‘Helper now available, a helper that will not only help you survive in this life, but also in the life to come!!!’  A helper that will not only be with you but will be IN you!

Jesus wrote, ‘It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. John 16:7 NKJV.

This ‘helper’ He makes available to you is His own Holy Spirit!!!

He sent this ‘helper’ to be our advocate, comforter, one called alongside to help, an encourager, to strengthen, console, enable, protect, defend, and intercede for us.  He sent His Spirit to teach us ‘all things’ and ‘show us things to come.’  To make us alive in Him!  WOW!

Do you want this ‘made to order’ helper, the Spirit of God Himself that He says you need and whom He says will fulfill your particular set of requirements as a human being?

Then “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38.

ANSWER HIS AD!  You were never meant to live this life without this ‘made to order’ helper.
