ALL RISE!

It’s SPRING!!!  Seems like everyone is out planting seeds.  Did you ever stop to think about the miracle of a seed?  That dry old thing in a paper bag that looks very dead?  Then you plant it in the ground and voila!  A beautiful flower or veggie appears.  They say that seeds are dormant, not dead.  They’re just waiting for the right combination of temperature, moisture and light to grow.

Speaking of waiting, scientists in Israel confirmed that an ancient, 2000-year-old date palm seed retrieved from the rubble of Masada in Israel was recently germinated!  2000 years old!  Now that’s a long time to wait!

Did you know that Jesus referred to a seed when He foretold His death and resurrection?Jesus said, ‘The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.’ John 12:23-24. He is saying that like the kernel of wheat, a seed, He must ‘fall on the ground and die’ if He is going to produce an abundance of seeds.  And, like a seed which appears on the outside to be very dead has a dormant embryo inside just waiting for the right conditions to germinate and spring to life, (resurrect), Jesus is saying that He will indeed die, but within Him is also an embryo of life that will never die.  Like a seed that germinates, begins to grow and put out shoots after a period of dormancy, and raises from the ‘dead’, He too after three days, will resurrect from the dead!  The seeds He will produce are those who believe in Him and therefore become a part of the Kingdom of God.

You get the word death and know that we all like Jesus will ‘fall to the ground and die, but what happens to us after we die?  Is there a resurrection?  Do you believe that it is possible?

I ask you again, look around you!  Seeds are ‘resurrecting’ by the millions!!!!!!  Look at the forest floor photo above by Hubert Van Den Dorey on Unsplash. The resurrection message must be of great, even critical importance to God by their sheer number!                                                                                                            He wants you to resurrect!  ARE WE LISTENING?

The message is clear!!  There is a resurrection after death!  If God designed plants ‘the good’ of God to resurrect, how much more will He desire to resurrect you, ‘the very good of God’.   But like a seed which only germinates and resurrects under the right conditions, you also will only resurrect to eternal life under the right condition, and that condition is belief in Jesus Christ.  (and you do not have 2000 years to meet this critical condition.)

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. John 11:25-26.

GREAT NEWS

Believe in Jesus and live.  He is the Resurrection!  To believe in Him is to receive His seed. His seed ‘will never die’!  And when you ‘fall to the ground and die’, His seed will resurrect you to eternal life.
