ANYBODY REALLY KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS?

Ever since God called the light ‘day’ and the darkness ‘night’, man has figured out what time it is by the rising and setting of the sun.  But the Ancient Egyptians weren’t satisfied with such broad time telling, so they invented the sundial which appeared as early as 3500 BC!!!

The sundial photo above shows the time of day as the shadow of a pointer cast by the sun to a plate marked with the hours of the day.  YOU COULD MAKE YOUR OWN!!!  

According to ‘How Stuff Works’, no one really knows who decided to divide a day into 24 hours, or 60 minutes in an hour or 60 seconds in a minute.  But one thing is for certain, modern man wants their time keeping to be PERFECT.

We base our time on the second.  A day is defined as 86,400 seconds, and a second is officially defined as 9,192,631,770 oscillations of a cesium-133 atom in an ATOMIC CLOCK!!!

And this is where it gets really interesting!  In the wake of World War II, the boys decided to invent the atomic bomb!!!!!!!!  It was called ‘The Manhattan Project’.

But if you remember Genesis chapter 50, What the devil intends for evil, God will use for Good!

While they were messing around with the atom, they discovered the oscillation between an atom’s nucleus and its electrons.  An oscillation is like the pendulum in your old grandfather clock in the hallway, tick, tock, tick tock.  

BUT this pendulum oscillates 9,192,631,770 times per second and is extraordinarily consistent.  God turned this evil bomb making for our good and man developed the ‘Atomic Clock’!  This clock uses the oscillation of a cesium atom to measure time!  It is so consistent in measuring time that it will lose only ONE SECOND after 6 MILLION YEARS!

THINK ABOUT IT!

The oscillation of the atom is #2 on a list of ‘Absolute Truths that God exists!’  

Ask yourself, who set the electrons in motion?  Who keeps them moving?  How can they possibly oscillate so accurately that man can base a clock on them and only lose one second in 6 MILLION YEARS!

There is a group of scientist that propose to use an orbiting neutron, rather than an electron as their ‘pendulum’.  If they are successful, this atomic clock would only lose or gain less than one-twentieth of a second in 14 BILLION years.  Science Daily.   

And think about this!  Everything in the entire universe including you is made up of atoms.  There are 7 billion billion billion atoms in your body!  Each atom has negatively charged particles that orbit around the outside of the nucleus.  In other words, everything, EVERYTHING is in constant motion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Even the concrete you drive your car on.

How is this possible? 

ASK JESUS!  ‘For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.   And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.’  Colossians 1:16-17.  NKJV.

You know that the title of Chicago’s song, ‘Anybody Really Know What Time It Is’ not only refers to the hours on a clock, but also to all the time related events of life!  I think about the return of Jesus.  The scripture makes it clear ‘that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’  Read Matthew 24!

In other words, no one knows what time it is right now regarding His coming again.  And when He comes again, it will be the end of His period of grace.  Anyone who is alive at that time that hasn’t accepted Gods provision for their sins, the Lord Jesus Christ, will no longer have the opportunity.  Unfortunately, ‘This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous.’  Matthew 13:49. ‘There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!  Luke 13:28.
‘Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.’
Matthew 24:42.

Now you know why God said, ‘The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”  Psalm 14:1.

DON’T BE A FOOL!  

Accept the Lord while you still can.  You ‘really don’t know what time it is’ in your own life or what time He may come again!
