Did you ever notice that life in this world is one big dichotomy? Everything everywhere has an opposite! There is love, but also hate. There is good and bad. There is joy and sadness. There is peace and strife. There is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. What is this world telling us?
Think about the following list
Gravity is good! Just don’t jump off a building, it will kill you.
Rain waters the earth, but can become a hurricane.
Snow is beautiful, but don’t get caught in an avalanche.
Wind can be gentle and wonderful, but watch out for that tornado.
Fire will warm you, but it can also burn you.
The sun is warm, but don’t get too close and watch out for sunburn.
Water is good to drink, but you can also drown in it.
Trees provide wonderful shade and fruit, but they can also kill you or destroy your house.
Rocks can be decorative, but don’t get caught in a landslide or earthquake.
Food is good, but don’t eat too much or the wrong food.
Animals can be pets, but some can also bite or even kill you.
Plants can be good for food, but some are poisonous.
A bee makes honey, but it can also sting you.
This dichotomy or contrast between two things exposes the truth about this life. We live in this world with ‘the prince of the power of the air’, the DEVIL.
It is his influence that causes the ‘stealing, killing and destroying’ on the right side of this list.
Some don’t believe he exists. Think about the neutral colors, white and it’s opposite, black, light and darkness and all the opposites listed above. It seems that everything has an opposite! This is another proof of the existence of the devil. He is the opposite of God. God, in the form of Jesus Christ, ‘came to give us life and that in abundance.’ And there is the devil, ‘who came to steal, kill and destroy.’ Heaven is described as a place where the opposites on the right no longer exist! That is because the prince of the power of the air, the devil is not there!!! Revelations 20:10.
God said He ‘will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.’ Isaiah 65:12. The following is a description of what He will create: ‘The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.’ Isaiah 11:6-9. It sure sounds like all the good things on the left, a place where all the opposites are LONG GONE!
Do you realize that the natural world is ALSO looking forward to what is to come!
‘For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Romans 8:19-22.
Don’t you want to be there?
We live in the age of grace. Jesus, the gentle savior is drawing us to Himself. When I accepted Him as my personal savior, He hit me with a bucket of LOVE!
But God ‘will not always strive with man’. Genesis 6:3.
There is coming a day of judgement that will be anything but gentle! In fact, it will be (again) an opposite, a day of ‘weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ Luke 13:28. You don’t want to face His judgement on that day or at the moment of your death. It would be like committing suicide because either you ignored Jesus or chose to have nothing to do with Him. It is suicide because it was your choice.
That is why the bible warns us saying, ‘Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.’ Isaiah 55:6. If you haven’t already done so, you can call upon Him now. Pray this prayer: Dear Jesus, you are the Son of God. You died for me. For my sins, in my place. Come into my life, forgive me, and make me new. And from this day forward with your help I’m all yours. In your name I pray. Amen.
The moment you pray this prayer, you have accepted Him as your Lord and savior, your sins are forgiven, and you are declared to be the righteousness of God. And you have a future home in heaven where the list on the right will be a part of your past!!!
GO WITH GOD and remember, Jesus already defeated the devil. If you have submitted your life to God, ‘resist the devil (in this world) and he will flee from you!!!!!’ James 4:7.
SEE YOU IN THE NEW HEAVEN!!!
Waiting for the day!, but also living that day in the spirit world!

Great message! Added thought: Human nature wants to ‘blur’ the decision of life vs. death, right vs. wrong, God’s vs. the devil’s way. We want to enjoy the temptation but don’t want the consequences. God knows what’s best – the only way to life, and life eternally!

I first prayed that prayer when I was four years old and still believe it with all my heart to this day. God is with me and is always in my heart.
