Another great metaphor from ‘The Book of Nature’!
The European Large Blue Butterfly shown above contains a message that could change the world!!!! I just read the following NBC News headline, like so many we are reading these days: ‘Thirty to fifty people converged on the Nordstrom store at the Westfield Topanga Mall in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. They made off with hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of luxury handbags and high-end clothing, police said.’
WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE THINKING? or WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?
Apparently, they haven’t read their bible! Or haven’t taken the time to read about the European Blue Butterfly in ‘The Book of Nature’!
The bible makes it clear: ‘Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A MAN REAPS WHAT HE SOWS’. Galatians 6:7.
These people will reap exactly what they sow and it’s not good.
The Large Blue reminded me of another similar scripture found in Proverbs 26:27.
‘Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them.’ Proverbs 26:27.
So here comes a worker ant who eats Blue Butterfly caterpillars! He is ‘digging a pit’ with this one and will fall into it himself and so will future generations of ants! This caterpillar has a number of tricks up her sleeve to keep from being eaten and show the ant that crime doesn’t pay!
As the ant approaches intending to kill and eat this caterpillar, she secretes a tiny bubble of ‘honey dew’ from a gland in her back. This distracts the ant who happens to love honey dew! Meanwhile, the caterpillar inhales air into her body which enables her to produce a sound that mimics the distress call of the ant’s queen! Being chivalrous, the ant carries her to the nest! She continues to make the sound of the queen, is accepted by all the other (unsuspecting) ants and is now free to wander the nest at her leisure! She slips away and finds the ant’s larvae and instead of being eaten (falling into the pit), she begins to kill the larvae by eating them! The ant has fallen into the pit he dug!!! Not only him, but future generations of ants because she will continue to feed on their ant larvae for the next six months and become 100 times larger than when she first arrived!
She then pupates in the protection of their nest and becomes a chrysalis. Nearly a year later at her leisure, she is born a butterfly and flies away! What a metaphor!
It’s a sad thing, but even ‘God’s people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.’ Hosea 4:6.
Be wise and gain knowledge by reading your owner’s manual, The Bible. And by constantly studying the Book of Nature. They contain all the knowledge you need to keep you from digging pits that you can fall into and rolling rocks that can roll right back on you.
Do yourself a favor and click on the link below to watch ‘Carnivorous Undercover Caterpillar’ with narrator David Attenborough!
Excellent message! Our owners manual plus the book of nature can save our lives! I love the story telling quality of this week’s post!

What a clever butterfly! God knew what He was doing when He created the book of nature, and us!
