We are being invaded!
There is an article entitled, ‘Don’t Touch These Plants’, on the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service web site written by Courtney Celly. She gives us fair warning not to touch certain plants, plants that are invading our country!!!
Namely, the Giant Hogweed, Poison Hemlock, Spotted Water Hemlock, Cow Parsnip and Wild Parsnip. Catch this! ‘Contact with Giant Hogweed may cause severe irritation to the skin and eyes, blistering rashes, permanent scarring and even blindness!!!’ And this is what she says about Poison Hemlock! ‘All parts of this plant are highly poisonous to people and animals. Ingestion of even small amounts may result in death.’ Yikes!
There are many organizations working to control invasive species in our country!
There is the U.S. Department of Agriculture that has a website entitled, ‘The National Invasive Species Information Center. The U.S. Department of the Interior hosts NIA, a National Invasive Species Council. SMA is the North American Invasive Species Management Association!
I think they have us covered! BUT:
There is another invasion going on in our country even more sinister! It is the invasion of unrighteousness (definition: not righteous; wicked: vicious and unrighteous passions thinking and actions). One verse from the bible says it all.
‘RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTS A NATION, BUT SIN (UNRIGHTEOUSNESS) CONDEMNS ANY PEOPLE.’ Proverbs 14:34.
This nation was built on righteous precepts. That is why God has exalted us, why we are blessed and prosperous. However, the invasion of unrighteousness, (sin) will condemn us and our future as a great nation becomes questionable.
Have we forgotten the admonition from God to: ‘Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.’ And that He said, ‘These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.
Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.’ Deuteronomy 6:5-9.
We take the 10 commandments out of our schools and refuse to talk about them to our children.
Why do people turn their back on God who only wants the best for us and insist on doing those things that offend Him or are against His divine law?
They do those things that God HATES!
‘There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,
a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.’ Proverbs 6:16-19.
Who is there to control this invasion?
The Church, the Holy Spirit (The restrainer from 2 Thessalonians 2:6) and YOU!
PRAY!!!
‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’ This is a promise, God will deal with the unrighteous invaders!
2 Chronicles 7:14.
And remember, ‘Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled!’ Matthew 5:6.
thank God we all for wisdom and He gives liberally so we can combat this invasion!
