THE EAGLE!

There is a video on YouTube of an eagle soaring in the sky with words superimposed on top posted by VJ Shordee.
VJ writes:  Do you know what an eagle does when a storm is approaching?   The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come.  When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm.  While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.

The eagle does not escape the storm, it simply uses it to lift it higher.  It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us, rise above them, let the winds that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, and disappointment into our life lift us higher.

These words are beautiful and uplifting, but VJ missed the point!

The scriptures make it clear that it is those who ‘wait on the Lord’ that will be able to ‘renew their strength’ who are the able to ‘mount up with wings like eagles’!  According to the scriptures, they are the ones who can ‘run and not grow weary, who can walk and not grow faint.’

‘But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint’.  Isaiah 40:31. NKJV

It is those who ‘wait on the Lord’ who have the strength to ‘rise above the storms of life’ and ‘let the winds that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, and disappointment into their lives lift them higher!
This is because ‘waiting on the Lord’ brings you into Gods presence.  You get to know Him and all the promises in His word that assure you that you can indeed be lifted higher by the storms of life and do not have to face them alone!

He said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you!’  Hebrews 13:5.

‘His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue..’  2 Peter 1:3.

You are ‘more than conquerors through Him who loved us.’  Romans 8:37.

You can ‘do all things through Christ who strengthens you’.  Philippians 4:13.

He said that He ‘has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind’.  2 Timothy 1:7.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.’ Romans 8:28.

When He died on the cross, He said, ‘It is finished’!  John 19:30.

His divine power has (already) given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him’.  2 Peter 1:3.

Isaiah 53 makes it clear that His death on the cross provided salvation, peace and healing!
‘He was wounded for our transgressions.  He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed’.  Isaiah 53:5.

No wonder those who ‘wait on the Lord’ can ‘run and not grow weary, walk and not faint’, and ‘rise above the storms of life’ as VJ says!

BE ENCOURAGED!
