BOMBARDIER BEETLE!!!

The proof of the existence of God is in its rear end???  The Bombardier Beetle is found worldwide with the exception of Antarctica.  Its habitat includes moist woodlands, grasslands and leaf litter.  (Have any of that in your backyard?)  Then chances are they’ve moved in.  If you find one or two, watch out!  They are only an inch long, but they have a unique defense mechanism which allows them to spray formic acid out of their rear end.  It exits at the boiling point of water!!!  (See photo above).   Their body stores two separate chemicals and expels them at will.  As soon as they mix, they react to create a stinging, hot liquid that is an extremely effective deterrent to any would be predator. 

According to an article in Fact Animal, some people have believed that ‘the system of spraying these dangerous formulations is so perfectly intricate that it could not have formed sequentially; that it must have originated from nothing, and that it’s an example of irreducible complexity, concrete evidence that it can only have been created, and not evolved.’  In other words, it is proof that God must exist!!!  

They have a fan club!  The Bushveld Lizard found in Southern Africa!  It is a lizard with similar coloration that has learned to mimic the walk of the beetle.  Predators think, watch out, that is a Bombardier and he’ll get you.  Wrong!  He’s only fooling.  He hasn’t got a squirter.

But there is a message here!  I’m sure you know that we are called to ‘mimic’ Jesus.  
‘Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.’  1 John 4:17.

‘And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.’  Corinthians 3:18.

‘For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.’  Romans 8:29.

We are called to be just like Him, ‘as He is, so are we’.   We are being transformed and conformed to His image!  The difference between us and this lizard that mimics the bombardier is we don’t have to fake it!  We can be just like Jesus in every way.

James 1 makes this clear.  We are to ‘Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.’  James 1:2-4.

LET PERSERVERANCE FINISH ITS WORK, AND YOU WILL BE MATURE, COMPLETE,
AND NOT LACK ANYTHING!
