‘Panther Chameleon’ photo from PxHere.
I had to include this stupendous Panther Chameleon in my blog, also rightly called a Rainbow Chameleon for its vibrant colors! (See photo above.). This amazing critter can change its colors in response to its mood, temperature, stress or environment. They can be vibrant blue, red, green, or orange. You can see why people might want one as a pet to spark up the color of their home! The males can be up to 21 inches long!
They are found in Madagascar. According to Animalia.bio, there are 451,730 of them on Nosy Be, an island in Northeastern Madagascar! They are definitely not endangered, thank God!!! Their eyes work independently, giving them a 360 degree view and they have a high speed sticky tongue as long as their body with a suction cup on the tip for catching bugs. Their feet are designed to grasp branches and their tail is ‘prehensile’, also capable of grasping a branch. These chameleons can change color because their bodies are covered with ‘chromatophores’ which contain pigments that absorb and reflect specific wavelengths of light. They can signal their cells to move which reorients the pigments to reflect different colors!
Did you know that we are called to be ‘chameleon like’ for the sake of the gospel?
Listen to the Apostle Paul!
‘Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.
To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law.
To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people (Chameleon like) so that by all possible means I might save some.
I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.’
1 Corinthians 9:19-23.
Colossians 4:5-6 tells us to ‘Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.’
Remember, we have the Holy Spirit and He will give you the right words to speak when you need them! As Jesus said, ‘But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.’ Matthew 10:19-20.
GOD SAID, ‘OPEN YOUR MOUTH WIDE AND I WILL FILL IT’
AND LET ME MANAGE YOUR COLORS!
yes Father, manage my colors! Great word!
