We have some of the most beautiful sunsets here in Oklahoma! Have you ever noticed that the darker it gets, the more beautiful the sunset! My wife Kris pointed this out!
(See photo above). Isn’t it true that the darker the situation gets in your life the more God in all His beauty shows up! The scripture says: He is ‘A very present help in time of trouble”! This is a famous phrase from Psalm 46:1.
‘God is a readily available refuge and source of strength, offering immediate and abundant assistance during difficulties, serving as a powerful reminder of divine support when things seem overwhelming.’ (Quote from an AI Overview on the subject of God’s help). The purpose of this post is to encourage you to let a sunset remind you of the goodness of God. Let the red colors fill you with His love and care. Did you know that the sunset is red because God has designed light and the atmosphere to interact! The increasing angle of the sun to the earth during a sunset causes the light from the sun to travel through greater amounts of atmosphere. The light waves hit small particles in the atmosphere like nitrogen and oxygen molecules. These molecules ‘scatter’ the shorter wavelengths like blue and violet leaving the longer wavelengths like red and orange to create our beautiful sunsets!
Isn’t it just like God to ‘scatter’ the blues away!
Let the Psalms reassure you!
‘Lift up your eyes to the (sunsets)— where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord the Maker of heaven and earth.’ Psalm 121:1-2.
‘God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.’ Psalm 46:1-3.
‘Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.’ Psalm 50:15.
‘The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.’ Psalm 34:19.
‘Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.’ Psalm 55:22.
‘The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.’ Psalm 145:14.
‘Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.’ Psalm 37:4.
LIFT YOUR EYES TO THE SUNSET AND REMEMBER!
it is so good to allow His creation to cause us to tremendously and think about Him and His loving care!
