Have you ever heard someone on T.V. or in the movies ask, “What happens after we die?”. The answer they typically receive is, “I don’t know!” It makes me chuckle, in a sad way because the answer to their question is everywhere around them. It’s RESURRECTION!
Remember one of the scriptures that forms the foundation for my blog?
‘But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you.’ Job 12:7-8.
The earth is always speaking! It’s the Book of Nature! A book we can learn from, a book with answers.
Speaking within the pages of this book is the ‘False Rose of Jericho’ pictured below.

It is also called ‘a resurrection plant’. There are 240 species of resurrection plants screaming, ‘There is resurrection after death!’ And not only these plants, but every seed that looks dead until it is planted in the ground and miraculously ‘resurrects’! I wrote about seeds in my post entitled ‘All Rise’ published on March 20, 2022. In this post I wrote about a 2000-year-old date palm seed retrieved from the rubble of Masada in Israel that was recently germinated! It came back to life!
Can you hear the message? Do you believe it?
The ‘Rose of Jericho’ is one of the species of resurrection plants. It is a drought resistant desert plant that grows in the Judean desert near the Dead Sea and the ancient city of Jericho. It is a symbol of hope and resilience with its ability to survive the harsh environment of the desert. When moisture is scarce, it dries out and appears to be dead!
It curls into a ball and becomes tumbleweed. It blows around the desert until it encounters moisture and it comes back to life! It resurrects!
If you want to be ministered to in your own home, you can purchase them from ETSY, two plants for $11.95. They will look completely dead and dried up. (See photo below).

When you are ready to witness a resurrection from the dead:
- Fill a tray with a layer of pebbles.
- Then, fill that with water, but just barely enough to submerge the pebbles.
(Use distilled water or rainwater, if possible, to avoid certain chemicals in tap water that the plant is sensitive to). - Now, sit the plant on the pebbles so the very bottom of the plant is in water. You do not need to submerge the entire plant.
- After a few hours, the plant will open up and turn green, “resurrecting” itself and coming out of dormancy!
- Remember to change the water every day to every few days to keep things clean.

These plants need drought to survive! Do we?
You have to let them dry out on a regular basis or they will die. Believe it or not, you can store them anywhere, even in the dark. (Just remember where you put them).

Yes there is resurrection after death. BUT, there are two kinds.
As Daniel prophesied, ‘Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.’ Daniel 12:2.
And the Apostle Paul said, ‘I have the same hope in God as these men themselves have, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.’ Acts 24:15.
You definitely want the former!
If you believe in Jesus you will live! He said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.’ John 11:25-26.
BELIEVE!
