GPS!

Have you ever taken the time to think about migration?  It makes me think of Luke 1:37,
‘With God nothing will be impossible.”

How in the world can a tiny dragonfly called the ‘wandering glider’, fly over 3000 miles (see pic above) or a gray whale swim 14,000 miles or the record holder, the Arctic tern fly over 40,000 miles in annual migrations?  Sounds absolutely impossible.

But, like I say, ‘Nothing is impossible with God who made them!

Migration is instinctual.  An instinct is a behavior that is acted out, not done by free will or choice.  God made a guidance system part of their DNA.  Thank God He did, because for them, migration is a matter of life or death!!!  Migration is their salvation.

What are these critters trying to tell us?  First, that God is!  Only He could design a wing that will continue to flutter for 3700 miles.  I also believe that they are saying that God will take care of you and has a plan for your life.  If you look at your life as a kind of ‘migration’, what would it look like?  He could have designed man to ‘migrate’ through life following His plan with no will of our own.  Instead, He gave us free will in the hope that we will of our own free will, realize that His plan for us is far superior than our own and that following His plan really can be for us a matter of life or death!

Read these wonderful scriptures, paste them on your wall!

God said, ‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Jeremiah 29:11

‘The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.’ Isaiah 58:11

‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.’ Psalm 32:8

These promises are from a loving, infinitely wise God!  Do you think you can formulate a better plan for your life than the one who, ‘created your inmost being’ and ‘knit you together in your mother’s womb?’ (From Psalm 139:13).

OR, is this scripture a better description of your approach to life?  ‘There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.’ Proverbs 16:25.

HOPE NOT!

  1. Brother Stu:
    One of your best!
Gave me pause to give recognition to the fact that the Bible and the Holy Spirit are the “guidance systems” God has put in place for us.
    Thank you Brother.

  2. Another thing we need to be wary of is trying to force our timing into Gods timing. He has a plan and we need to let go and trust that He will take care of us.
